Culinary Crafts Website Redesign
Culinary Crafts were nominated for an award, and in order to win the award, they needed to compile a website that represented the best parts of their company, and showed how they excelled at the judge categories. I worked with this company and I learned a lot about communication, audience research, and site organization.
74 pages and 1 1/2 hours to go through it all
The site was way too long and had too much information for the judges to go through. so I went through and organized all of the sites into categories so I could summarize the content and show the best parts of each category.
Analyzing Content
I tried to organize the content into different categories and circled the parts of information that was interesting or that I was looking to include into the new design.
Mapping it out
I mapped out each section that the website was going to be judged on, excellence, creativity, and service and made sure that I was checking off each section in multiple ways on each page.
I also mapped out what each page could look like, what I needed to get done, and what I should title the new pages to accurately describe what was on each page.
Sketches
I decided that there should be about 7 pages and then sketched them out to see how it would flow and look.
Personas and research
I interviewed people that have a background in business, judging competitions, and website creation. I created personas for the type of people that would be using this website from the interview notes I recieved.
Final product
Conclusion
There is too much content and it is unorganized.
Downsize and create a layout for the content so the judges can see the most important parts of the site quicker and more effective.
